It's the audacity for us!! After an extensive recruiting campaign to bring Nikole Hannah-Jones to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the ongoing saga of her tenure, she heroically walked away and joined the well known HBCU, Howard University.
Nikole Hannah-Jones stated," It’s not my job to heal the University of North Carolina. That’s the job of the people in power who created the situation in the first place.”
Whew! How many of us can relate to the 'you fix it' narrative? Kudos to Nikole for choosing her peace and self-worth. Walking away from comfort and familiarity is never easy but is a MUST when the circumstances are no longer serving you.
